Moc a Socks

I recently finished a pair of Moc-a-Socks, Bekah Knits, for our neighbor's first born son. I saw the pattern first on a German mailing list and followed the links. It is a delightful pattern with which to work. I used Telemark yarn from Knit Picks and size 2 straight and double pointed needles. I also made the card in the background, which I will post on my paper crafting blog.

I am still working on Glomitts for my DS's MEDEVAC unit.....photos will follow.

Prize Yarn!!!

I entered the Freedom contest at Yarn4Socks blog and won a wonderful prize. It is a 4 oz skein of Cottage Craft 1 ply 100% pure wool in the horizon blue colorway. The yarn is beautiful and exceptionally soft. Thank you Valerie and Donna! I can't wait to knit with this scrumptious yarn.

I am finally here!

After about 3 years of encouragement by my sister, Monica ,I have relented and started my blog.
I am a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and great aunt. In addition to knitting I enjoy crocheting, sewing and stitching. I am the family historian; I love doing genealogical research and collecting historical data. My favorite collections are quotes from the Founding Fathers and the historical origins of idioms and expressions.
I have many projects on the needles and hope to get back to them as soon as my utilitarian knitting is complete. I am working on numerous items for my son's unit for use during their deployment. I will post pictures later.
